State of Play Presentation Coming Later This Month – Rumour

Sony recently unveiled the PS5 Pro (to widespread controversy, to say the least), but it looks like the company still has some things left to show- and in the very near future. Journalist Jeff Grubb claimed last month that a PlayStation State of Play presentation was planned for sometime in September, and he has now doubled down on that.

In a recent episode of Giant Bomb’s Game Mess Mornings podcast, Grubb reiterated that based on what he’s heard, a State of Play presentation is planned for later in September. To be a little more specific, Grubb claims the presentation will happen in “twelvish days”, which would point at the final week of the month.

What Sony will be showcasing at the event is up in the air, but it’s safe to assume …

Mascherano hails Guardiola influence

Javier Mascherano says he owes a debt of gratitude to Pep Guardiola, and wants the coach to remain at Barcelona.

Argentina international Mascherano earned a reputation as one of the most effective defensive midfielders in Europe during his time at Liverpool, but he has regularly been utilised as a centre-back since moving to Barca in August 2010.

Mascherano feels he can develop further as a player under Guardiola s guidance, and is hoping the 41-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, will commit his future to the club.

Guardiola is very important to me, Mascherano said.

He is the coach who trusted me to come to Barcelona and also provided me with the necessary conditions to be able to change my position.

Leandro Trossard confident that Arsenal can overcome Bayern Munich

Leandro Trossard believes a “top level” performance is required to topple Bayern Munich after salvaging Arsenal a 2-2 draw from a captivating Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Gunners substitute Trossard levelled with 14 minutes remaining on Tuesday evening to leave the tie perfectly poised ahead of next week’s return match at Allianz Arena.

Former Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry and ex-Tottenham striker Harry Kane had turned the contest in Bayern’s favour following Bukayo Saka’s early opener.

This is our house! More work to be done!

“They have showed how they can hurt us so we need to work on that for next week,” Trossard told his club’s website.

United would be wrong to re-sign Pogba – Scholes

Paul Scholes does not believe Manchester United should make a move to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford.

Pogba left United in July 2012 after opting against signing a new contract, allowing him to move to a Juventus team with whom he now enjoys a starring role

The France international has been strongly linked with a switch away from the Serie A champions, with United among the clubs linked with the midfielder.

Paris Saint-Germain are reported to have agreed an €80million fee for Pogba, and Scholes feels that fee is too steep for United to consider signing him.

I don t feel they should go back to sign Pogba for the sums being talked about having lost him for the compensation payment, Scholes wrote in his column for The Independent.

Mancini annoyed at Sturridge exit

Roberto Mancini has questioned Manchester City s decision to allow Daniel Sturridge to join Chelsea when his contract expired in 2009.

Sturridge failed to agree a new deal with City, and subsequently signed for the Blues for 3.5 million pounds plus add-ons, a few months before Mancini arrived in Manchester.

He has since gone on to establish himself as a key member of the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge, and trails only Frank Lampard in the Chelsea scoring charts this season.

I asked him last year when he played for Bolton why he left Manchester City and he said he didn’t know, Mancini revealed to the Manchester Evening News.

I know Sturridge well, I have watched him many times. Given the chance I think I would have liked to have kept him, but now…

Juventus keen on Bryan Cristante

Italian champions Juventus are weighing up January bid for Benfica midfielder Bryan Cristante, according to Tuttosport.

The 22-year-old was rated as one of AC Milan’s hottest prospects when he was surprisingly allowed to join the Eagles in 2014, and he in turn struggled to make an impact at Estadio da Luz.

However, Cristante has largely impressed during the loan spell with Atalanta, scoring 3 goals in 8 Serie A games this season.

Juventus scouts appear to have been impressed with the talented central midfielder and the Bianconeri have decided to try and bring the player to Turin.

The Italian giants want Atalanta to exercise the buy-out option as Orobici would be easier to negotiate with than Benfica.

Cristante made his Italy debut in the 2018 W…

High Bar, Failed Expectations & Cristiano Ronaldo’s Crisis in Numbers

The main issue with setting the bar too high is pressure and criticism as soon as you fail to maintain the expected level of performances.

And for a perfectionist player as emotion-driven as Cristiano Ronaldo even the tiniest of dry spells will cause quite a media pressure just like this current one revolving around the Real Madrid biggest star.

Is Ronaldo really in crisis?

During the long eight seasons in Spanish capital Madrid, the Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has established himself as prolific goal scorer who averages a goal every 6.83 shots at goal.

The 32-year-old forward has gone from strength to strength with Los Blancos, scoring at least 31 La Liga goals in six of his eight years at Santiago Bernabeu with the 2014/15 season coming as the best…

Lewandowski deserves FIFA Best award – Flick

Robert Lewandowski s stunning form this year should see him crowned The Best FIFA Men s Player for 2020, according to Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick.

The prolific Poland forward played an integral role in Bayern s treble-winning 2019-20 season, which saw them crowned champions of Europe, and is firing on all cylinders again in the new campaign.

Lewandowski faces stiff competition for the honour from the likes of holder Lionel Messi, Juventus Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and former team-mate Thiago Alcantara.

But Flick believes the Bayern talisman has the best case, with the stats certainly lending significant weight to that argument.

The award takes into account accomplishments between July 20, 2019 and October 7 of this year. During that time, Lewandow…

Viviani makes surprise Verona switch

Italy under-21 international Federico Viviani has made a surprise move to Serie A club Hellas Verona.

Viviani, 23, was reportedly on the verge of joining Palermo from Roma on Monday, with suggestions he had even agreed terms.

But the midfielder has signed for Verona, the club confirmed on their website on Tuesday.

Viviani started his career at Roma, but he struggled to break into the first team.

He made six league appearances for the capital club in 2011-12 but then spent time out on loan in Serie B with Padova, Pescara and Latina.
