Liverpool agree Grujic sale with Porto, Awoniyi to join Union Berlin

Liverpool are reportedly set to receive a total of £17 million for the services of Marko Grujic and Taiwo Awoniyi.

As reported by Neil Jones of , the Merseysiders have agreed to sell Grujic to FC Porto for £10.5m. The Serbian midfielder was the club s first signing under Jurgen Klopp as the manager back in January 2016, but he hasn t been able to earn a spot in the squad since. He returned to Red Star Belgrade on loan straight away and later had temporary spells with Cardiff City, Hertha Berlin and Porto. The 25-year-old will now join the latter on a permanent deal, despite reported interest from Germany and Italy.

Meanwhile, Awoniyi became a Liverpool player six months before Grujic, arriving from the Imperial Academy in Nigeria. However, he struggled for a long time to secure a work permit in England and was therefore forced to go on numerous loans, never making a single competitive appearance for the Reds. The issue has now been reportedly resolved, but there is still no place for the 23-year-old forward in Klopp s plans, and the club need funds for incoming deals. He is to Union Berlin, with the German side set to pay £6.5m for his services.

Liverpool will get 10% of any future sale involving either player.
